Obituary for Cheryl Floyd

Cheryl Lynn Floyd was born to Johnny and Lillian Byrd on July 11, 1953 in Edison, Georgia. She moved with her family to West Palm Beach, Florida when she was a baby. Cheryl grew up in West Palm Beach and attended Roosevelt High School.

Cheryl worked at Columbia Hospital as a unit secretary and outpatient scheduling. She later worked in medical records at St. May's Medical Center and retired from there in 2020.

The best day of Cheryl's life was July 1, 1987, when she was baptized into Christ at Palm Beach Lakes Church of Christ on 36th Street in West Palm Beach. Cheryl was a faithful member of the church for the next 36 years. She was loved by the members of her church family, who truly considered her to be a close sister in Christ. Cheryl passed from this life into her eternal rest on April 15, 2023, at the age of 69.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Lillian Byrd; her brothers, Jeffrey Byrd and Horace Miller; and sister, Kathie Walker. She leaves to mourn her passing; her daughters, Stephanie(George) Floyd-Williamson and Shoshanna Mickens; her siblings, Gerod Byrd, Emmitt (Janis) Miller, Kimkeisha (David) Fan Fan; grandchildren, Whitley and Alexandria Williamson, Mariah Mickens, Damond Sears, Armani, Cameron, and Caidyn Mickens; five beautiful great-grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cheryl will be dearly missed!
