Obituary for Clifton Prudhomme

Clifton “Cliff” Lamar Prudhomme was born in Jamaica, New York to the proud parents of Terry and Sheila, on March 15, 1976. He was the oldest of two children in this union.

Cliff, being born into a military family traveled to many states, including, Las Vegas, Nevada; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Rome New York; Liverpool, New York and Tallahassee, Florida. During his stay in Las Vegas, he survived a terrible hostage incident at the age of seven. Cliff helped the local Police rescue his sister and another toddler.

Cliff was an avid baseball and football player and a recognized academic scholar. He graduated from Florida A&M University Developmental Research School in 1994 with one of the top ACT scores in his class earning him a Presidential Scholarship to the University of Florida. He also received the Coaches Award for baseball. Cliff completed nearly three years at “UF”, but was saddled with a chronic lifelong illness that affected his ability to continue. With up to 7 ICU admissions annually, his life was projected to be shortened. His family requested he stop school, just be Cliff, and enjoy however much time was left.

Cliff was fortunate enough to work in fields he loved hospitality and service. He was a Counselor at O2B Kids, a children’s edutainment facility, where he made lifelong friends. He worked for several years as a counselor and trainer. He moved on into the field of hospitality and food services. In that capacity, he helped expand several restaurants such as BJ’s, Drive Shack, and Lynora’s Kitchen in multiple locations. He served at Lynora’s Kitchen in Boca Raton through the end. He loved his Lynora’s family.
Cliff was a member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Gainesville, Florida, and a member of 4-H.

Knowing his time on this side might be limited because of Sickle Cell, he decided to fight for life, those he loved, children, and the elderly, like a champion. Basically, while on this side, he worked at excelling at anything he did, especially sharing Agape Love with others. The number of lives he has touched is innumerable from children to strangers.

Cliff leaves to cherish his memories: his parents, Chief Master Sergeant Terry Prudhomme, Sr. and Dr. Sheila Jeffers-Prudhomme; one sister, Terri “Anika” Wilson (Tate), two step-siblings, Chad Callahan (Cori); Jasmine Williamson (Sadie); two-nieces, Ayianni and Aleeyah Alexander, one nephew, Amari Woods; a special friend, Tiana McGlockton; three aunts, Carol Bellinger, Veronica Thompkins, Jacqueline Oxendine; four uncles, Carl Jeffers Sr., Gary, Fred, and Daryl Prudhomme and a host of cousins, friends, and co-workers.
