Obituary for Clydena Miller

Clydena Synoria Robinson was born to the proud parentage of the late Henry Robinson and Willie Mae Tucker Robinson on August 11, 1926 in Ocilla, Georgia. The fourth of six children, Clydena attended local Irwin County Schools and excelled as a student. She then attended college at Savannah State University in beautiful Savannah, Georgia.

She participated in sports, social clubs, and community organizations. A couple of those extracurricular activities in college involved playing for the women's basketball team and later became captain of the cheerleader squad. In conclusion to her senior year, she was crowned Miss Savannah State.

Clydena received a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies with a minor in Education K-12 from Savannah State. After graduation, she began her career as an educator teaching in a local Georgia school. She then furthered her education by completing her Master's in Education with an ESOL endorsement from Florida A&M University (FAMU) Tallahassee, FL.

Clydena often told the story of how she met a handsome, young man named RC while she was participating in a parade. RC said, “she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.” He told her she would one day be his wife. RC manifested those words as they married and soon parented four beautiful children together Sylvia, RC Jr., Robert and Willie.

Clydena taught for over 38 years in Palm Beach County schools; Lake Shore High school (now known as Glade Central), Westward Elementary and Belvedere Elementary. Clydena retired, but soon returned a few years later teaching for 10 years at RJ Hendley Christian Education Center and several years at Joseph Littles Charter School. She also volunteered at Pleasant City Elementary and Westward Elementary, before retiring once again.

Early in life she joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Conner and later moved her membership to Friendship Missionary Baptist church under the Leadership of Rev W.M Hall Jr. She was an active member at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist church under the leadership of Rev Ralph W Pittman Sr. Until finally moving her membership to The Real Crusaders International Ministries where her beloved son RC Miller Jr.is the pastor. There she served until her death.
