Obituary for Ferlando Bailey

Ferlando Bailey was born on March 14, 1936 to father Thomas Bailey and mother
Leandra Chambers from Peckham , Clarendon, Jamaica. Ferlando was the youngest of
his siblings who have all preceded him.

He attended school in Jamaica and worked at D&D .He migrated to New Jersey in the
early 1970’s where he worked at Brockway Glass in Freehold as a maintenance
engineer. He also worked as a taxi driver for Neptune Taxi. He was the father of Four
children 2 of which preceded him, remaining children, Aleeshia Bailey and Venice
Bailey.

Ferlando moved to Florida in the late 1989 after frequently visiting his sister in Orlando.
He settled in West Palm beach, and remained a resident there until his passing. Mr.
Bailey had a green thumb and loved his gardening and this was Evident each time you
turn on his block.

Boy Boy as he was affectionately called could be abrasive, and maybe not one person
here can say at some point they weren’t offended by something he may have said.
However, in the same breath he also was the same one to call you, come yah man,
mek mi show you dis, or mek mi give you dis, as if nothing just happened. That’s just
who he was. Writing this I realize why he was called boy boy, because you had to say
Boy O boy sometimes when he tested your patience. But one always comes to
recognize how big his heart really was. He was stubborn for sure, proud and
knowledgeable and given a challenge quickly to tell you: “shut your trap’.

Mr. Bailey knew every road to take if you needed to do a road trip from Jamaica to
Canada, anywhere in the USA he could tell you the best route to use. He loved to drive
back in the day before his eyes and knees started failing but he could always tell you
how to get there.

That being said Rest well. WE love you, until we meet again.
