Obituary for Granville Woodbine

Granville Woodbine was born on March 12, 1941 to parents Albertha Woodbine (nee Leslie) and Zacharia Woodbine. Granville attended Enfield All Age School, Shaw Castle All Age School and completed his 3rd Year Exam for the privilege of attending Mico Teacher's College. Granville met and married Carmen Bailey and began a family.

Granville's call to the ministry took him to the West Jamaica Conference, Interamerican Division and even Canada. The family moved to the United States in 1980 and settled in West Palm Beach, Florida with their children.

Granville later went on to obtain his Master's In Education from Florida Atlantic University and served as a guidance counselor for Palm Beach County school system for many years.

Granville was a passionate Seventh Day Adventist, actively looking forward to the second coming of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved to volunteer and would cook and bake for his church family. He shared his love of music widely through choirs and groups he started in Jamaica and the US. He was a man of many talents and skills, donating floral arrangements weekly for Sabbath services. He was a man before his time making vegan curry goat, vegan oxtail and vegan beef patties that he sold to local Jamaican grocery stores. People would request that he ship his specialty gems all over the country. His baking included Caribbean classics like Easter bun, plantain tarts, powder bun, bulla cake, gizzada and coconut drops. He made, by himself, a 7 tier wedding cake for his only son's wedding.

Granville is survived by his wife Carmen Woodbine, Veronica Peterkin, Donna Douglas, Fernon Woodbine, Shernese Woodbine, 6 grand children, 3 great grad children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
