Lonnie Lacey Deyounks Sr. was born in Live Oak Fl. to the proud parents of John Albert Deyounks and Addie Banks Deyounks on 10/22/1939. He was the 7th of nine children.
Lonnie attended his primary education in Suwannee County Schools. In the late 40’s he and his family moved to Georgia settling in Cairo, where he graduated from Grady County School. He later met Sandra Casimir McCray which later resulted in their nuptials on September 16, 2015.
Lonnie was fortunate to obtain employment shortly after moving back to Florida and resting in Palm Beach County, where he worked for Wither’s Van Lines for 10 years. He continued in employment at Murphy’s Construction Co. from which he retired after 20 years of service. During his retirement, he was a crossing guard for the Palm Beach County School District in the early 2000s.
With his infectious smile, he touched the hearts of many lives. He always had a joke to keep you laughing. He was loving, kind, sweet, and caring and will be dearly missed.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife Sandra Casimir-Deyounks, and Five children Johnnie Mae (Eddie) Chaney of Riviera Beach FL; Lonnie Deyounks Jr. of Tampa FL; Christopher (Tangela) Deyounks of Tampa FL; Janise (Malcolm) Daniels of Riviera Beach FL; and Laura (Gregory) Ransom of West Palm Beach FL. One brother Frank Deyounks, One sister Annie D. Washington, 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, best friends Otis & Cathy Miles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing relatives, and friends.
