Obituary for Lucye Henry

Lucye M. Henry was born November 27, 1931 to Oliver and Ella Mae Bostic in Kelsey City (now Lake Park), Florida.

Lucye’s education began in Palm Beach County at Washington Elementary School and continued on until she graduated from Industrial High School in 1949. She matriculated to Florida A & M University where she received her Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Lucye was an outstanding educator with 47 years of teaching experience. Lucye was a teacher for Palm Beach County School District for 17 years. Her passion for teaching continued on when she and her two sons moved to Germany in 1968. She taught for an additional 30 years with the United States, Department of Defense Dependent School System (DODDS) at Hainerberg Elementary School in Weisbaden, Germany.

Lucye was a world traveler! Some of the countries she visited included Germany, China, Italy, Russia, France, England, Turkey, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Greece, Poland, Austria, East Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg, and Spain. She collected many souvenirs from the various countries she visited around the world.

Following the death of her father, Lucye became intrigued with wanting to know more about death and what happens at death. She met Jehovah's Witnesses and they showed her Jehovah's promise which is found in Revelation 21:3-4. “With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away”.

Lucye’s study of the Bible lead to her dedicating her life to Jehovah. As a symbol of her commitment, she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 28, 2001 in Wiesbaden, Germany with her sponsor by her side.

Lucye’s memory will be forever cherished by her two sons, Jeffrey Baker I, (Patsy), Juan Henry; 7 grandchildren Summer (Anthony), Jasmine, Scarlett (Alvin), Jeffrey II, Tatiana, Jacob and Tajsha (Sean); 17 great-grand children, one great-great grandson, her adopted German families Suzanna and Ottmar. A host of relatives, friends, students, and former coworkers. Her presence will also be greatly missed by her spiritual family of the Palm Beach Lakes and Northwood Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation.
