Obituary for Stephen Hurbs
Stephen Michael Hurbs, 70, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Pearl Hurbs; brother Tony Hurbs; and sisters Sherian Hurbs, and Yvonne Paige. Left to cherish Stephen’s memory are his sons Taryll Hurbs, Marzel Hurbs and wife, Melissa; daughters Nadia Covington and husband, Damien, Karen Lee; brother Wayne Hurbs; sisters Genevieve Johnson, Hillary Hurbs; grandchildren Michael, Donald, Khazeem, Khazan, Elijah, Alexander, Isaiah, Nicholas, Layla, and a host of other family and friends.
Stephen had a personality that was larger than life, which he lived on his own terms. He was extremely social and was known for his love of the color blue and desire to lend a helping hand. Although he could be a stern man, he loved his family dearly and was a wonderful provider for them. Stephen worked many years in the brewing industry, working for D&G (Red Stripe) and ultimately Anheuser Busch where he retired after 33 years of service. Stephen established lifelong friendships at Anheuser Busch which lasted well into his retirement years.
Stephen loved the outdoors; in his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, seeing the world and swimming in the open ocean. He also enjoyed cycling, camping and soccer. Stephen especially loved taking cross country road trips with his family. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, colleagues, neighbors and all who knew and loved him.
A visitation has also been scheduled on October 22, 2022, from 10:00 – 11:00 am, at Shuler’s Memorial Chapel, 5301 Australian Ave, West Palm Beach, Florida, 33407. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with live streaming at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/6586137351.
