Obituary for Teresa James (Boyd)

Teresa was born on September 17, 1959, in Plant city, Florida. She was the third child and eldest daughter of James and Delores Ingram who preceded her in death. Teresa attended Palm Beach County local schools where she met Amos James, the father of her children. This resulted in their nuptials and the birth of five beautiful children: Serlina James, Quessie Campbell (Leonard), Lashunda Blackshear (Marché), Amos James Jr, and her predeceased beloved son Aareyun James.

She was a member of Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church where she and her grandchildren served on the usher board. She was affectionately called "Tee” by her family and friends and lovingly referred to as “happy feet" by co-workers. Teresa worked as a Palm Beach County School Bus driver for twenty plus years. Teresa was known for her gorgeous smile, beautiful spirit, and angelic heart. Despite her full life, she devoted her time serving others. She would often say that it was her honor to be of service to others. She gladly and faithfully visited and cared for her neighbors and community residents.

Teresa's impact on her community was wide. Teresa transported and accompanied neighbors and the elderly to doctor visits, social gatherings and hair appointments. She provided shopping assistance, prescription pickups and she delivered pantry food and baskets to deserving families throughout the year. She comforted and consoled the grieving throughout the community and was considered as a second mother to many youths. To know Teresa was to love her!

Teresa touched many lives and will be forever missed. She leaves to mourn her passing: her loving children whom she loved and cherished. Teresa was preceded in death by her brother James Van Boyd. Teresa will be greatly missed by her siblings: Andrew Lee Sams, Pernell Andrews, Janiet Singletary…her twelve grandchildren: Dyrell, Dwight, Angel, Ariel, Ama'Lisa, Arrianna, Amos III, LaSché, Aareyun Jr, Alaysia, Anyla, and Marché Jr…two great grandchildren Angelo and Vienna Rae and a devoted brother-in-law James Andrews and a host of other relatives and friends. Teresa is gone but never forgotten. She leaves us with memories that will last forever.
